New Year Carnival
New Year celebrations in Russia last two weeks starting at New Year Eve, than Christmas on the 7th of January and New Year of the Julian calendar on the 14th of January. Moscow becomes a different city, sparkling with illuminations, singing and dancing.
“Traveling to Christmas” is a New Year Festival and it includes performances of street theatres, concerts, master-classes for children and adults, light installations and traditional winter games. The most attractive event of this year festival is New Year Theatre Carnival on Tverskaya street. The main street closed for traffic on the 31st of December, 1st and 2nd of January becomes a huge open stage for all day performances. Let’s walk along the street, enjoy New Year Eve in Moscow and see different scenes from world famous Russian plays, operas and ballets.
